Going into college, I was motivated to try something new that will get me out of my comfort zone -- that’s when I had the crazy idea of wanting to go Greek. I looked into the organizations that Loyola University Chicago offered and saw that Delta Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc. was one that advocated in promoting Asian awareness on campus and was intrigued right away. I went to their recruitment events my first semester as a freshman and the atmosphere was so welcoming. I went into this wanting to find a home away from home and a support system from sisters, considering the fact that I am an only child and never had one to begin with. I also wanted to find something to be passionate about during my time as an undergrad at this university and to showcase my leadership capabilities. I am proud to say that I found my passion and my place through this everlasting sisterhood. I have made so many new connections with my sisters, especially my big sis (shoutout to Candice “Aveline” Ning) and many other people from other organizations and I’m excited to see what the future holds for me and this sorority.
